Edwatch: College Ready Promise
| Organization Name: | College Ready Promise |
| Company Line: | The College-Ready Promise is a new coalition of California public charter management organizations committed to graduating all students—especially low-income and minority students—college-ready. Our organizations operate 85 public schools and enroll more than 28,000 students. We have earned a reputation for excellence because more than 75 percent of our graduates over the past two years are attending four–year colleges, well above the average for the state. We are proud of these results, but we must do more. Over the next several years–working closely with our teachers and principals–we will implement an innovative plan to attract and retain highly effective teachers to work with our students, dramatically increasing the number of college–ready graduates. |
| Bottom Line: | Charter management organizations (CMO) that have privatized many schools in California. |
